The warmer weather is finally here, and with the sun shining and the birds chirping, you may be itching to get outside with you and your family. While there might still be some chillier days, and we are still about a month away from the official start of summer, there are tons of fun activities that you can do with your kids during this spring season.
If you are looking for some ideas on how to add some fun and adventure into your kids’ lives this spring, check out some fun activities that you can plan for the next month!
1 – A picnic.
It is always a good idea to have a picnic! Get your kids involved by sitting down and planning exactly what it is that you will be making for your picnic, and don’t forget to include a little sweet treat for the end! You can even involve your kids in preparing the picnic food and drink and packing it up. Once you have your food and drinks all set, head to a local park, throw a blanket down, and enjoy a great lunch with some beautiful weather!
2 – Visit your local zoo.
If you have a zoo nearby, it’s time for a road trip! Visiting your local zoo is a great activity to do during the springtime and is super fun not only for your kids, but also for you and the adults as well! Visiting the zoo helps children learn more about all different types of animals and will allow them the opportunity to engage with animals as well. It is a fun, hands-on experience that will not only be enjoyable but will help your kids to gain more knowledge on animals and their natural habitats, as well as bond with the family!
3 – Go to a baseball game.
One of the best parts about the spring season in New England is visiting Fenway Park for a Red Sox game. Whether you choose to attend a day or night game, Fenway Park is truly the experience of a lifetime for both kids and adults. Fenway Park is super special for a bunch of reasons and is the perfect way to truly understand the culture of Boston, Massachusetts, and the love for the city! Plus, there is nothing better than a Fenway Frank under the sun – talk about fun activities that are also delicious!
4 – Dine at a kid-friendly restaurant outdoors.
There are plenty of awesome restaurants in Massachusetts and Rhode Island that are extremely kid-friendly and offer outdoor seating. Plan a day to take your kids out for lunch or dinner while enjoying the gorgeous spring weather.
5 – Go for a family bike ride.
If you and your kids have bikes, carve out some time on a nice spring day to go for a long bike ride. Whether you choose to take a bike ride through your neighborhood or on a local trail, bike rides are not only great exercise but also very fun! Biking not only will help to get your kids outside, but will help them to improve their balance and coordination while getting a good sweat in.
6 – Explore local hiking trails.
Depending on how old your kids are, check out some local hiking trails for fun activities that are good for the whole family. Hiking is great no matter what age you are, not only for physical health reasons but also mental as well! Hiking is a great opportunity to get some good family time in while getting good exercise. Plus, there is no better feeling than making it to the top and enjoying the views!
